RESTON, Va., June 17, 2026 – Unissant announced today that Alka Bhave, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of National Security, has been appointed to the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA) Space Intelligence Council.
The Council convenes leaders from across industry and government to address emerging priorities shaping National Security, including how intelligence capabilities evolve across domains and how agencies deliver mission outcomes in increasingly complex environments.
Bhave’s appointment reflects Unissant’s growing role in supporting National Security missions through data, AI, and enterprise-scale technology solutions. It also reinforces the company’s engagement in the broader industry dialogue on how capabilities are built, integrated, and deployed to support mission execution.
“INSA plays a critical role in bringing together the leaders who are shaping how National Security missions evolve,” said Sumeet Shrivastava, CEO of Unissant. “Our focus as a company is on helping agencies operationalize that evolution by building the systems that allow data to drive decisions and mission outcomes at speed. Alka’s appointment reflects both her leadership and the work we are doing across this space.”
Brigitte Custer, Vice President of Strategy and Solutions at Unissant and a member of the INSA Advisory Committee, emphasized the importance of aligning industry collaboration with real-world execution.
“INSA is a bridge between policy, technology, and mission delivery,” said Custer. “The priorities being discussed across the National Security community increasingly center on how to operationalize data, integrate capabilities, and deliver outcomes in real environments. That’s what Unissant does, and we are glad to be increasing our voice in the conversation.”
Bhave brings more than 25 years of leadership across defense, intelligence, and federal civilian missions. Her background includes work in satellite systems engineering and she holds a B.S. in Electrical Engineering and M.S. in Telecommunications, with emphasis on satellite and wireless communications. At Unissant, she leads enterprise operations and oversees the company’s National Security portfolio, with a focus on disciplined execution, delivery excellence, and advancing mission outcomes through secure, scalable solutions.
“I’m honored to join the INSA Space Intelligence Council and contribute to the broader dialogue supporting National Security priorities,” said Bhave. “These conversations are critical to ensuring that capabilities are developed and delivered in ways that support mission needs in real time.”
