Unissant MissionWORKS™

A Lab-to-Field Flywheel for Scalable Innovation
Scaling innovation to drive mission outcomes is difficult when its through disconnected pilots and one-off builds. Unissant MissionWORKS codifies how Unissant turns proven and tested innovation into mission-tied capabilities.

MissionWORKS Overview

Unissant MissionWORKS (Mission-Wide Outcomes for Reuse, Knowledge, and Scale) converts complex mission demand into repeatable, evidence-backed capabilities – inputting mission requirements and converting to prototype development and in turn leading to production-ready capabilities.

Through a closed-loop innovation flywheel, MissionWORKS uses deep technical expertise to build accelerators that yield proven, reusable components – thereby allowing us to rapidly assemble scalable capabilities at the speed of need and tailored to the needs and objectives of the mission.

Each cycle generates evidence, operational feedback, and proven patterns that strengthen what MissionWORKS can deliver next.

Each cycle captures operational feedback and proven patterns, continuously refining strengthening, and expanding what MissionWORKS delivers next.

The MissionWORKS Portfolio

Reusable Accelerator Foundations

The MissionWORKS Innovation Flywheel is underpinned by a growing family of accelerators designed to address foundational requirements for deploying AI and other emerging technology into operational environments. These platforms help MissionWORKS deliver mission value in repeatable, scalable, and dependable ways.

Repeatable Components and Capabilities

MissionWORKS turns proven delivery patterns into reusable components and mission-tied capabilities that can be applied across customers, programs, and operating environments. These assets build on Unissant’s accelerator foundations to reduce reinvention, accelerate development, and move differentiated solutions toward operational use.
Component
Governed Agentic Testing
Governed Agentic Testing (GAT) is Unissant's framework for AI-generated software testing that people can trust. AI builds and challenges the tests at machine speed, a built-in red team tries to break them, and a human approves every test before it can clear software for release. Every step is cryptographically signed, so reviewers like a Lead Developmental Test Organization (LDTO) receive verifiable proof of what was tested and how.
Component
Open Requirements Articulation Protocol
Open Requirements Articulation Protocol (ORAP) is Unissant's approach to making Program Requirements readable by machines as well as people. Requirements become structured, signed data that planning tools, analytics, and AI systems can consume directly. New joint requirements policy defines what a requirement must include but leaves the format open, and ORAP is designed to fill that gap.
Component
Intelligent Mesh as-a-Service
Intelligent Mesh as-a-Service is Unissant’s capability for operationalizing AI across complex mission environments without giving AI direct access to operational source systems. It connects reusable AI services and bounded agents to approved tools, APIs, and governed data environments, with security controls managing every interaction so mission users receive actionable insights while humans remain responsible for decisions.
Capability
iExamenSM
iExamen is Unissant’s generative AI capability for accelerating investigative case workflows from intake through reporting. It extracts entities, organizes evidence, summarizes case information, and supports case development within existing mission systems – helping analysts and investigators move from raw inputs to action-ready case files faster.

Technology Partner Co-Innovation

MissionWORKS expands through co-innovation with technology partners. These collaborations combine partner technologies with Unissant’s accelerator foundations and mission expertise to create capabilities that are matured, fielded, and returned to the MissionWORKS portfolio for reuse across future missions.

iVisionSM
GenAI-Powered Image Intelligence
Developed in collaboration with the AWS Generative AI Innovation Center, iVision combines Unissant’s accelerator foundations and mission expertise with generative AI services on AWS. It uses computer vision, generative AI, and natural-language search to turn large image repositories into searchable, intelligence-rich mission assets – helping users identify entities, generate contextual metadata, and surface relevant visual insights faster.

How It Works

MissionWORKS connects five disciplines in one continuous capability lifecycle.
01
Fuse Mission Signals
Bring together stakeholder priorities, operator insight, mission requirements, delivery lessons, and relevant technical context to establish a unified mission signal.
02
Define the Capability
Translate the mission signal into a clear capability objective with defined users, operational outcomes, success measures, environmental constraints, and required functions.
03
Compose on Proven Foundations
Assemble the appropriate combination of reusable components, Unissant accelerators, technologies, supporting frameworks, delivery methods, and mission expertise.
04
Prototype, Test & Verify, and Mature
Develop the capability rapidly, evaluate it against defined mission requirements, generate evidence of performance, and refine it for the realities of the operating environment.
05
Field, Learn, and Improve
Deploy the capability into the mission environment and capture operational evidence, operator feedback, delivery artifacts, tested patterns, and lessons learned that inform continued improvement and advise readiness for scaling across the mission enterprise.

What It Delivers

Through MissionWORKS, Unissant delivers mission-tied capabilities assembled from reusable accelerators, components, specialized expertise, and technology partner co-innovation. Each outcome is tested against defined requirements, matured for the operating environment, and structured for reuse across agencies, programs, and mission contexts.
Mission-Aligned
Designed to address a named operational problem, serve defined mission users, and support a clear outcome.
Composed from Known Foundations
Built from an identified combination of reusable components, accelerators, technologies, and specialized expertise.
Evidence-Backed
Tested against defined requirements and supported by evidence that it performs as intended.
Field-Ready
Matured for the operating environment, including relevant workflow, data, integration, security, and user requirements.
Repeatable by Design
Structured so proven elements can be adapted across agencies, programs, and mission environments rather than repeatedly rebuilt.

What It Enables

MissionWORKS helps agencies translate complex operational needs into fielded capabilities with greater speed, repeatability, and confidence. It is an innovation flywheel that moves solutions from lab to field while strengthening the foundations available for every mission that follows.

MissionWORKS is currently available to the Department of War, Intelligence Community, Department of Homeland Security, and federal health agencies through the DoW SOCOM VULCAN Marketplace.
Accelerate the path from mission need to fielded capability
