Unissant announced today that Virginia Business has named President and Chief Executive Officer Sumeet Shrivastava a 2026 Icon Honors recipient. He will be recognized at the publication’s Icon Honors ceremony on November 13 at The Jefferson Hotel in Richmond.
Icon Honors recognizes the lifetime achievements of Virginia luminaries whose work has left a lasting impact on their organizations and communities. Shrivastava’s selection reflects more than 35 years of leadership in government technology and decades of service to institutions across Northern Virginia.
Shrivastava joined Unissant as President and CEO in 2024. He has since sharpened the company’s focus across National Security and Federal Health while advancing a strategy grounded in mission obsession and delivery excellence.
“Sumeet understands what it takes to strengthen an organization while creating opportunities for the people around him,” said Manish Malhotra, Founder and Executive Chairman of Unissant. “At Unissant, that perspective is helping shape our next chapter. He brings a long view of company growth and a commitment to developing leaders who stay accountable to the missions we serve.”
Before joining Unissant, Shrivastava served as Chairman and CEO of ARRAY, where he helped guide the company through a management buyout and eventual acquisition by CGI Federal. Earlier, he helped lead ANSTEC through its sale to Keane, now NTT DATA. Across those chapters, Shrivastava also supported executives who went on to build businesses of their own.
Shrivastava’s connection to Virginia’s institutions began much earlier. A graduate of Fairfax County Public Schools, he later earned his MBA from George Mason University. One of Governor Abigail Spanberger’s Day 1 appointments to the university’s Board of Visitors, he now serves as Rector. He is only the second person in Mason’s history to lead the Board of Visitors after previously leading both the George Mason University Foundation Board of Trustees and the Alumni Association.
His broader service includes leadership as past chair of GO Virginia Region 7, as well as on the boards of the Northern Virginia Chamber, the Shakespeare Theatre Company and CRi Foundation. As past chair of the Northern Virginia Science Center Foundation, Shrivastava helped advance the $120 million public-private partnership behind the new regional science center. He and his family have also provided lead gifts supporting the center’s Helios Gallery and the Shrivastava Family’s Success through Entrepreneurship Program at George Mason.
“Virginia gave my family access to education and the opportunity to build a life here,” said Shrivastava. “I have tried to honor that by strengthening the institutions that create those same opportunities for others. I am grateful to Virginia Business for this recognition and to the people who have been part of that journey.”
