RESTON, Va., December 10, 2025 – Unissant has been awarded a position on the Missile Defense Agency’s (MDA) Scalable Homeland Innovative Enterprise Layered Defense (SHIELD) multiple-award Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract vehicle. SHIELD is a 10-year contract vehicle with a $151 billion ceiling that gives MDA and other authorized Department of War organizations a flexible path to rapidly compete and deliver capabilities across a wide and evolving homeland defense mission space.

Through SHIELD, Unissant will have the opportunity to support MDA initiatives that require secure, scalable, and mission-ready technology across the full lifecycle of capability development, from research, prototyping, modeling and simulation, systems engineering, and test and evaluation to modernization, sustainment, data analysis, and cybersecurity. The vehicle is designed to help advance layered, multi-domain defense capabilities that can detect, track, intercept, and neutralize evolving threats across air, missile, space, cyber, and hybrid environments.

“Homeland defense is a mission where speed, integration, and trust have to move together,” said Alka Bhave, Chief Operating Officer and General Manager of National Security at Unissant. “SHIELD gives MDA access to partners who can help turn emerging technology, data, AI, and secure mission systems into operational capability at the pace the threat environment demands. Unissant is proud to bring our National Security expertise to this work and to support MDA as it advances scalable, layered defense for the nation.”

Unissant brings a mission-obsessed, data-driven delivery model to National Security environments where operational decisions depend on resilient systems and trusted information. The company’s teams support federal customers with expertise in AI, advanced analytics, cloud, cybersecurity, digital modernization, and mission systems. These capabilities help agencies connect data, accelerate decision-making, and move advanced concepts into secure production environments.

The SHIELD award expands Unissant’s role in one of the federal government’s most consequential defense priorities. For MDA, the vehicle provides a way to access innovation quickly and apply it across complex mission needs. For Unissant, it creates a direct path to contribute to the architectures, data environments, and mission applications that help connect detection, decision, and response in support of homeland defense.
